Wave betting deposit in The Gambia: the 1% and what is free

A D500 Wave deposit made as a transfer to a bookmaker’s number carries a D5 Wave fee, which is 1%. Wave’s wording, live on 25 September 2026, lists cash in and cash out as free and send as 1%.

The distinction matters because a phone transfer is not the same as a cash deposit. Cash in at a Wave point adds to your own wallet without a Wave charge. Moving that money on to another wallet number counts as a send, so that charge applies to you.

From your side it feels like one deposit. In Wave’s terms it is two steps with two prices.

KYC means know your customer, the identity checks that set your level. The lower level allows D20,000 for balance and 30-day inflow, while the higher level allows D200,000 for balance.

betpower.gm is a secondary guide site, not a bookmaker. It described in June 2024 funding a Gambian bookmaker by transfer to its AfriMoney, QMoney or Wave number. Foroyaa describes street agents who take cash and give a code to use online, and I print no wallet number here.

The Point noted the same send charge in April 2023. The main price page is global, not Gambia specific, and it carries no date. I therefore rely on the Gambian terms for the caps and on the live price wording for the free and paid actions.

Bookmaker deposit minimums and fees for The Gambia are not published anywhere I can cite. The deposit screen shows the minimum and any fee, and I do not repeat affiliate figures here. I checked for a citable bookmaker notice and found none.

You can check your identity level in Wave so a cap does not block the receipt of a later withdrawal. The lower cap still sits well above that single deposit, but it can matter if you keep winnings in the wallet. You can check the cap before a withdrawal lands, not after it fails.
